It is known for agricultural diversity, with widespread cultivation of mangoes, grains, and various fruits, in addition to aromatic plants such as screw pine, chrysanthemums, narcissus, and wormwood, which add an authentic southern character and natural fragrance.

Among its attractions is Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Park, a key tourism site offering panoramic views of the Abadil and Sala mountains, along with family-friendly recreational facilities.

The historic Abu Soma Fortress stands as a reminder of the past, once serving as a center for collecting zakat and storing grains, with its architectural features still preserving its legacy.

In 2004, Al-Ardah gained international recognition as a “Healthy City” by the World Health Organization, becoming the second city in Jazan to receive this classification, which highlights its commitment to public health and balanced development.

The governorate is currently witnessing the implementation of 36 municipal projects with an investment exceeding SAR467 million.

According to Mayor of Jazan Region Eng. Yahya Ghazwani, 23 of these projects, valued at SAR335 million, have been completed, covering road paving, bridge construction, sanitation, and city operations.

Additionally, a housing project comprising 506 units has been delivered to social security beneficiary families in need.

With its harmonious blend of nature, history, and development efforts, Al-Ardah today presents itself as a comprehensive destination that attracts both visitors and investors, offering a unique experience that combines geography, heritage, and the human spirit. (SPA)
