ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – As Jakarta accelerates its transformation into a global city, young entrepreneurs are expected to play a pivotal role in driving economic growth and building a globally competitive business ecosystem in the Indonesian capital.
In response to this momentum, the Regional Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association of Greater Jakarta (BPD HIPMI Jaya) officially launched its 2026 Regional Education and Training Program (DIKLATDA), aimed at strengthening the capacity, mindset, and leadership of its members.
Held at The Tribrata Darmawangsa on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the prestigious event served as a strategic platform to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs who are adaptive, innovative, and collaborative in navigating the challenges of the global economy.
The mandatory cadre development program opened with strong enthusiasm and was attended by a number of prominent national figures, cabinet members, and regional leaders. Among the distinguished guests were Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, Jakarta Governor Dr. Ir. Pramono Anung Wibowo, M.M., Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives Wibi Andrino, Chairman of Division X of the Central Executive Board (BPP HIPMI) Jay Aryaputra Singgih, and Chairman of BPD HIPMI Jaya M. Riandy Haroen.
The presence of high-profile leaders from across sectors underscored the strategic importance of the training program in shaping the future of Indonesia’s young business leaders.
Carrying the theme “The Role of Young Entrepreneurs in the Global Economic Transition,” the event featured four panel discussion sessions covering Organizational Leadership, Economy & Business, Nationalism, and Local Wisdom. The sessions were designed as a comprehensive roadmap to equip participants with both practical business insights and broader socio-economic perspectives.
The Organizational Leadership session featured four top HIPMI national cadres: BPP HIPMI Treasurer General Reynaldo Bryan, Deputy Treasurer General Ade Jona, Chairman for Energy, Environment, and Forestry Affairs Afi Kalla, and Chairman for Synergy with Danantara, SOEs, and Regional-Owned Enterprises Anthony Leong. The panel explored the importance of strong organizational values and the significance of structured leadership development from regional branches to the national level.
The Economy & Business session brought together Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim and House of Representatives Commission XI member Puteri Komarudin. The discussion focused on how young entrepreneurs can build resilience and maintain sustainable business growth amid international market volatility while supporting Jakarta’s transition into a global city.
Meanwhile, the Nationalism session featured Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya and Executive Director of Negara Institute Dr. Akbar Faizal, M.Si. Both speakers emphasized the importance of understanding national policy directions and maintaining business resilience amid Indonesia’s evolving democratic landscape.
Closing the panel series, the Local Wisdom session presented two influential female leaders: Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN DKI Jakarta) Chairwoman Hj. Diana Dewi, S.E., and Jakarta Regional Legislative Council member Hilda Kusuma Dewi. The discussion highlighted how Jakarta’s local business potential can strengthen the city’s economic foundations, while also exploring underdeveloped sectors and the regulatory support needed to maximize their growth.
In his keynote remarks, BPD HIPMI Jaya Chairman M. Riandy Haroen stressed that Jakarta possesses enormous demographic potential to produce a new wave of entrepreneurs. With a population of 10.7 million people and 71.27 percent of its residents within productive age groups, Jakarta offers a significant opportunity for the emergence of young business leaders.
“However, amid today’s global uncertainty, simply producing young entrepreneurs is not enough. We must equip them with strong capabilities so they can continue to grow and remain competitive during Jakarta’s transition into a global city,” he stated.
Riandy explained that the inclusion of distinguished panelists was intended to help participants develop the mindset of resilient entrepreneurs who are adaptive, innovative, and collaborative.
He added that practical insights from experienced experts would help HIPMI cadres better understand how to navigate ongoing business challenges in this era of uncertainty.
Echoing the same optimism, DIKLATDA 2026 Organizing Committee Chairman Razoola Menakh expressed confidence in the program’s long-term impact.
“We believe that after participating in DIKLATDA 2026, HIPMI Jaya’s young entrepreneurs will gain valuable insights that can be directly applied to scale up their businesses. Moving forward, they will become resilient entrepreneurs with global competitiveness,” said Razoola Menakh.
The 2026 DIKLATDA program was attended intensively by 200 active cadres who are newly registered members of BPD HIPMI Jaya. Participants came from a wide range of industries and business sectors, representing all six administrative regions of Jakarta. (Silvia Andriani)
