BREAKING NEWS: Train Collision Occurs in Indonesia

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A train accident occurred in Indonesia on Friday morning, January 5 2024.

The accident incident involved the Turangga Train (KA) (65) and the Bandung Raya Commuter Line Train (KA) (350). The two trains collided on the Haurpugur – Cicalengka route in Bandung.

This incident caused the railway line to be temporarily impassable.

The management of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) revealed that they are currently evacuating a series of trains and passengers.

“KAI is currently trying to evacuate passengers on the 2 trains that experienced the disaster,” said Agus in his official statement, Friday, January 5 2024.

KAI’s next efforts are to evacuate 2 trains and repair damaged rail lines.

For train trips that will pass through the Haurpugur – Cicalengka area, KAI will make efforts to engineer operational patterns in the form of detours and diversions using other transportation.

KAI will also carry out an investigation with the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT) to find out the cause of the accident.

“We will provide further information regarding this incident at the next opportunity,” he explained.

Previously, the Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Risal Wasal, explained that his party had sent a technical team to secure the location of the incident.

“The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation is concerned and condolences for the victims affected by this incident,” explained Risal. (AT Network)
