ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Zhejiang Province, China, who is also Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Yi Lianhong, paid a courtesy visit to Vice President (Wapres) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin at the Vice Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (13/11/2023).
The Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Lu Kang, explained that one of the meetings between Secretary Yi Lianhong and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin was to follow up on the prospects for investment cooperation between Zhejiang Province and Indonesia in various sectors, including the halal industry.
“They not only discussed the various achievements that have been achieved in cooperation, especially in the Chinese investment sector by Zhejiang Province and Indonesia, but also about broader prospects,” said Lu Kang, quoted on Tuesday (14/11/2023).
One of them, continued Lu Kang, is that Zhejiang Province is very interested in carrying out investment cooperation in the halal industry which is currently being intensively developed by the Indonesian government.
“It is very explicit that Zhejiang Province is very interested in this, as Vice President Ma’ruf Amin promoted halal industry cooperation during his visit to China last September, and spoke with leaders there, including at the state and provincial levels,” he explained.
Therefore, said Lu Kang, the arrival of Secretary Yi Lianhong is a form of positive reciprocity for the Zhejiang Provincial government to follow up on the potential for investment cooperation in the halal industry with Indonesia.
“Of course they will follow up, there is no problem,” he stressed.
Furthermore, Lu Kang said that not only in the halal industry, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Secretary Yi Lianhong at this meeting also discussed investment cooperation in the Nickel industry and various other industries.
“Not only did they discuss the various achievements that had been achieved, but Vice President Ma’ruf Amin also encouraged more investment from China. “Not only for the nickel industry, but also in other industries,” he said.
Lu Kang also confirmed that the various potential investment collaborations discussed would be discussed further in depth by Chinese investors.
“This will of course be followed up by investors to discuss. “But both parties already see brighter prospects,” he said.
Finally, Ambassador Lu Kang expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the Indonesian Government, especially Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, to Secretary Yi Lianhong’s approximately three day visit to Indonesia. (AT Network)
