ASIATODAY.ID, SURABAYA – The newly inaugurated Graha Wardhana in Surabaya stands as a testament to Kana Group’s commitment to advancing Indonesia’s industrial and cooperative sectors.
The inauguration coincided with the launch of two other major initiatives: the PT Rajagula Indonesia sugar factory in Kediri and the new Jambi branch of Koperasi Kana. Together, these milestones reflect a strong resolve to strengthen local economies and foster the rapidly growing cooperative movement.
The inauguration ceremony opened with an enthusiastic address from Jonathan Danang Wardhana, President Commissioner of Kana Group, August 8, 2025. In his speech, Jonathan emphasized that Graha Wardhana is more than just a building—it is a bold step forward, envisioned as a collaborative hub for Kana Group’s various sectors.

“Graha Wardhana will serve as the strategic operations center for Koperasi Kana, PT Kana Indonesia Industri, PT Indogula Jayabaya, and PT Rajagula Indonesia. Here, we will develop programs focused not only on profitability but also on community empowerment and improving quality of life,” Jonathan said with optimism.
The building is designed as an innovation hub that will integrate Kana Group’s diverse business lines. It is expected to create new opportunities for local economic growth, generate positive social impact, open up employment prospects, and accelerate regional development.
Following the building’s inauguration, attention turned to PT Rajagula Indonesia’s sugar factory in Kediri—a strategic move to strengthen the domestic sugar industry.
Dae Taufic Ramadhan, President Director of Rajagula Indonesia, highlighted in his remarks that the factory will not only boost the national sugar supply but also empower local farmers.
“With this factory in operation, we aim to meet the rising domestic demand for sugar while strengthening partnerships with local farmers. We want to help improve their yields and deliver long-term benefits to surrounding communities,” Dae Taufic stated.
Beyond being a production center, the factory is expected to generate new jobs and serve as an innovation hub within the sugar industry, delivering tangible economic benefits to local communities.
Equally significant was the opening of Koperasi Kana’s Jambi branch, which aims to bolster the cooperative sector in the region, offering broader access for residents to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

The Chair of Koperasi Kana noted:
“We see tremendous potential in Jambi. With our presence here, we hope to create more opportunities for local entrepreneurs and uplift community living standards.”
This expansion is part of Kana Group’s broader effort to extend the cooperative’s positive impact across Indonesia and promote inclusive economic growth nationwide.
Irsyad Muchtar, Chair of the Indonesian Large Cooperatives Forum, also praised Koperasi Kana’s role in advancing the nation’s cooperative sector.
“Koperasi Kana is not an ordinary cooperative. It operates in the real sector, delivering tangible impact for both the community and the economy,” Irsyad said.
He added that Koperasi Kana is powered by highly skilled professionals capable of navigating global business challenges:
“Koperasi Kana does not rely solely on traditional business models—it has a competent, experienced team ready to compete on the global stage.”
His statement underscores Koperasi Kana’s commitment to continuous growth, adaptability in global markets, and unwavering dedication to cooperative principles centered on community empowerment. (Silvia Andriani)
