ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Deputy Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Jerry Sambuaga met with Deputy Minister of International Economic Relations of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Claudia Sanhueza Riveroz at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Thursday, June 13 2024.
Jerry said that Indonesia and Chile agreed to start negotiations on a number of new areas related to trade. This is to expand the scope of the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA) negotiations.
At this event, the Joint Statement on the Launch of Investment Negotiation of the IC-CEPA was also signed.
“This joint statement reflects the strong spirit of collaboration and partnership between Indonesia and Chile,” said Jerry.
The two deputy ministers also discussed expanding the scope of IC-CEPA to various new areas including financial services, electronic commerce, digital economy, intellectual property, critical minerals and investment.
Indonesia and Chile also discussed the implementation of trade in goods, ratification of trade in the services sector, and Indonesia’s accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). (ATN)
