Grand Cross

During his official visit to Peru, President Prabowo was awarded the highest honor “Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru” by the Peruvian Government. The award was given in an official ceremony at the Government Palace, which was handed over directly by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and witnessed by high-ranking local officials.

The “El Sol del Perú” award, which was originally called the “Orden del Sol”, is known as the highest honor in Peru, and is awarded as a form of recognition for extraordinary services rendered to the country and nation of Peru. This award, with the highest level of Grand Cross, is usually given to Heads of State from friendly countries or international figures whose contributions are universally recognized. This award symbolizes the deep friendship and respect between Indonesia and Peru.

As a Grand Cross, President Prabowo received a Grand Necklace with a Diamond Circle. This honorary emblem is specially designed with an 80 mm diameter sun-shaped plate that reflects the glory of “El Sol del Perú.”

In the center of the coat of arms, there is a plate with a relief of the Peruvian national coat of arms, surrounded by red and white enamel with the words “El Sol del Perú” and the year of Peru’s independence, “1821,” to commemorate the history of the Peruvian nation’s independence. This set is completed with green palm and laurel branches, symbolizing the peace and glory of the Peruvian nation.

Responding to the award, President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the honor given by the Peruvian Government. He also emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields with Peru, and hoped for stronger relations in the future.

“This is a great honor. “Thank you very much, President,” said President Prabowo in a joint press statement. (AT Network)
