ASIATODAY.ID, DOHA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono, made a working visit to Doha, Qatar and met with the Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on March 5, 2025.
In the meeting, the two Ministers discussed improving relations between the two countries to a higher level in various strategic fields, including politics, economy, defense and security, and infrastructure. This was quoted from the MOFA press release, in Jakarta, Friday, March 7, 2025.
In this meeting, Minister Sugiono and the Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also discussed the planned state visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto to Qatar in 2025. The visit is expected to be a momentum for improving relations between the two countries.
The two ministers also discussed cooperation to garner international support in strengthening the Palestinian people’s struggle for independence and realizing the ideals of establishing a sovereign state.
Qatar is one of Indonesia’s important partners in the Middle East, especially in the investment sector. Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Qatar have been established since 1976. (AT Network)
