Indonesia Wins ASEAN U-19 After Defeating Thailand

ASIATODAY.ID, SURABAYA – The Indonesian U-19 national team won the 2024 ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship after beating Thailand U-19 with a score of 1-0 through Jens Raven’s goal (17′) at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Monday.

This title is the second for Indonesia after last winning it 11 years ago, precisely in the 2013 edition at the Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo.

President Joko Widodo congratulated the national team on the championship title.

“Congratulations to Garuda Muda for the extraordinary achievement of winning the AFF U-19 Cup title,” said Jokowi via the X @jokowi account which was monitored in Jakarta, early Tuesday morning.

President Jokowi said the victory over Thailand 1-0 was achieved through hard work and a very inspiring fighting spirit.

“Hopefully this achievement will pave the way for greater success. Indonesian football will advance,” said Jokowi. (ATN)
