Indonesian Driving License Valid in All ASEAN Countries Starting June 1, 2025

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Republic of Indonesia Police announced that the Indonesian Driving License (SIM) will become valid in all Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries next year so that there is no longer a need to obtain an International Driver’s License.

“No need for an international driver’s license, Indonesian driving licenses are also valid in all Southeast Asian countries starting June 1 2025! Indonesian driving licenses will be valid in ASEAN countries starting June 1 2025,” said a written statement from the Metro Jaya Regional Police on the X account @TMCPoldaMetro, Thursday, June 20 2024.

The ASEAN countries that recognize Indonesian SIMs are the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia.
