After that, Prabowo and Gibran then signed the inauguration minutes. The event continued with the first speech by the 8th president of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.

Apart from being witnessed by members of the People’s Representative Council, Regional Representative Council, invited dignitaries and the people of the country, this activity was also witnessed by state guests from friendly countries.

In his speech before members of parliament, Prabowo discussed various things, ranging from corruption, poverty, food self-sufficiency, energy self-sufficiency, commodity downstreaming, to Palestine.

Corruption

“Let us dare to be introspective, let us dare to look ourselves in the face, and let us dare to improve ourselves, let us dare to correct ourselves. Brothers and sisters, we have to face the fact that there are still too many leaks, misappropriations, corruption in our country. This is what endangers our future, and the future of our children, and our grandchildren.”

“We must have the courage to admit that there are too many leaks from our budget. Deviations, collusion between political officials, government officials, at all levels, at all levels, with rogue entrepreneurs, unpatriotic entrepreneurs. Let us not be afraid to see this reality.”

“I have said that we must have the courage to face and eradicate corruption by improving the system, by firmly enforcing the law, by digitalization. God willing, we will reduce corruption significantly. But we must do this.”

“All elements of leadership must set an example. Ing ngarso sung tulodo. Brothers and sisters, there is a saying that says, if a fish goes bad, the rot starts from the head.”

“All officials from all echelons and all levels must set an example to carry out government leadership as clean as possible. Starting with an example from the top and after that strict and strict law enforcement.”

Poverty

“We still see some of our brothers and sisters who have not enjoyed the benefits of independence. Too many of our brothers and sisters are below the poverty line. Too many of our children go to school without eating breakfast. Too many of our children do not have clothes for going to school.”

“Brothers and sisters, we as political leaders, should not be too happy to see statistical figures that make us too happy, too quickly satisfied, even though we have not yet seen the full picture. We feel proud that we have been accepted into the G20.”

“We feel proud that we are called the 16th largest economy in the world. But, do we really understand? Do we really see the full picture of our situation? Do we realize that poverty in Indonesia is still too big? Do we are you aware that many of our people and our children are malnourished? Many of our people cannot get good jobs. Many of our schools are neglected.”

Food self-sufficiency

“Brothers and sisters, I have declared that Indonesia must immediately be self-sufficient in food in the shortest possible time. We must not depend on external sources of food.”

“In a crisis, in a critical situation, no one will allow us to buy their goods. Therefore, there is no other way. In the shortest possible time, we must achieve food security. We must be able to produce and meet the food needs of all Indonesian people.”

“I have studied with the experts who helped me. I am sure that within four to five years we will be self-sufficient in food. In fact, we are ready to become the world’s food basket.”

Energy self-sufficiency

“Brothers and sisters, we must also be self-sufficient in energy. In a situation of tension, in a situation where there is the possibility of war everywhere, we must be prepared for the worst possibility. Other countries must think about their own interests.”

“If something happens that we don’t want, it will be difficult for us to get energy sources from other countries. Therefore, we have to be energy self-sufficient and we are able to be energy self-sufficient.”

“Plants enable us to be independent of other nations. Plants such as oil palm can produce diesel and gasoline. We also have other plants such as cassava, sugar cane, sago, corn, and others.”

“We also have quite a lot of geothermal underground energy. We have a lot of coal. We have a lot of energy from water.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, the government that I lead will focus on achieving energy self-sufficiency.”

Assistance Subdivision

“Brothers and sisters, as well as all aid subsidies to our people who are still in difficult situations, we must ensure that these subsidies reach those who need them.”

“We have to have the courage to research, and if necessary we change the subsidy, it must go directly to the families who need it. With digital technology, we will be able to get the subsidy to every family who needs it.”

“It is not permissible for aid flows not to reach those who need it. Brothers and sisters, all of our children must be able to have at least one nutritious meal a day. And we will do that and we can do that, brothers and sisters.”

Commodity downstreaming

“To guarantee the protection of the weakest to achieve true prosperity, true prosperity we must carry out downstream to all the commodities we have.”

“The added value of all these commodities must increase our economic strength, so that our people can achieve a prosperous level of life. All of our commodities must be able to be enjoyed by all Indonesian people.”

Palestine

“We want to be friends of all countries but we have principles. We have anti-colonial principles because we have experienced colonialism. We are anti-oppression because we have been oppressed. We are anti-racism. We are anti-apartheid because we have experienced apartheid when we were colonized. We are even classified as lower from dogs.

“Because of that, we have the principle that we must be in solidarity. We must defend the people who are oppressed in this world. That is why we support the independence of the Palestinian people.” (AT Network)
