ASIATODAY.ID, YEKATERINBURG — Indonesia is seeking to attract Russian investment, accelerate technology transfer, and forge new manufacturing partnerships through its participation as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, Eurasia’s largest international industrial trade fair.
The designation makes Indonesia the first Southeast Asian country to serve as INNOPROM’s Official Partner Country, underscoring the growing strategic importance of Indonesia–Russia industrial ties amid Jakarta’s push to diversify global economic partnerships.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the exhibition provides a strategic platform to strengthen Indonesia’s manufacturing competitiveness, attract industrial investment, and open wider access to the Eurasian market.
“Indonesia’s participation in INNOPROM 2026 is a strategic step to strengthen the country’s industrial position in global markets while expanding international partnerships that can generate investment, industrial development, and stronger manufacturing competitiveness,” Agus said during a visit to Russia.
Ahead of the exhibition’s opening in Yekaterinburg, Indonesia and Russia held a joint press conference highlighting opportunities for investment, industrial collaboration, and business expansion between companies from both countries.
Tri Supondy, Director General for Industrial Resilience, Regional Development and International Industrial Access, said Indonesia’s objective goes beyond increasing trade.
“Our priority is to generate tangible industrial investment, joint manufacturing projects, and technology transfer that will strengthen Indonesia’s long-term industrial competitiveness,” he said.
Russia also reaffirmed Indonesia’s growing importance as an industrial partner. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Gruzdev described Indonesia as Southeast Asia’s largest industrial economy and one of Russia’s key international partners, saying the Official Partner Country designation reflects the expanding scope of bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, Denis Pasler, Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast, expressed hope that INNOPROM would lead to new investment, joint production projects, and broader technology cooperation between Indonesian and Russian industries.
Expanding Indonesia’s Industrial Presence
Indonesia is participating with 50 co-exhibitors representing sectors including agro-industry, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, engineering, consumer products, industrial estates, and investment promotion.
The delegation will participate in business matching sessions, bilateral meetings, business forums, and sector-focused discussions aimed at generating commercial agreements and long-term industrial partnerships.
Indonesia is also showcasing its industrial capabilities through a 1,512-square-meter Indonesia Pavilion, featuring manufacturing technologies, industrial products, and investment opportunities for international investors, businesses, and policymakers.
Anton Atrashkin, Business Program Director of Formika Event and one of INNOPROM’s organizers, said Indonesia’s participation has become one of the exhibition’s main highlights, reflecting the strengthening economic relationship between the two countries.
INNOPROM attracts more than 48,000 visitors from around 60 countries, making it one of Eurasia’s leading industrial exhibitions and an important platform for companies seeking cross-border investment and manufacturing partnerships.
Tri said the success of Indonesia’s participation would ultimately be measured by the implementation of agreements after the exhibition concludes.
“We want to see more industrial investment, co-production projects, technology transfer, and manufacturing cooperation that create long-term value for both Indonesia and Russia,” he said.
Through INNOPROM 2026, Indonesia aims to secure new industrial investments, expand joint manufacturing projects, accelerate technology transfer, and strengthen long-term economic cooperation with Russia while broadening its access to the rapidly growing Eurasian industrial market. (AT Network)
