ASIATODAY.ID, WASHINGTON – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held a meeting with the President of the United States Joe Biden at the White House, Washington DC, United States.
Jokowi said that the partnership between the two countries could contribute to global peace.
“Indonesia hopes that our partnership can contribute to regional and global peace and prosperity,” Jokowi said to President Joe Biden at the White House, Tuesday (14/11/2023).
Therefore, President Jokowi invited President Biden to help stop the Israeli conflict and atrocities in Gaza, Palestine.
“This is a very painful thing for humanity,” he said.
Previously, Jokowi revealed that the United States is one of Indonesia’s most important partners.
Therefore, the two leaders agreed to upgrade the partnership between the two countries to become a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP).
“But the most important thing is that we have to really interpret it because for Indonesia economic cooperation is a priority, including in supply chain issues,” he added.
On that occasion, President Biden said that the cooperation between Indonesia and the United States had escalated into a comprehensive strategic partnership, marking a new era of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
“This includes increasing our cooperation on security matters,” said Biden.
Furthermore, President Biden said that other things that both countries are concerned about are building safe supply chains and overcoming the climate crisis.
“This includes expanding our cooperation in building safe supply chains. This includes our deeper collaboration to tackle the climate crisis,” said Biden. (AT Network)
