ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) instructed the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to explore holding the 2025 U-20 and 2025-2029 U-17 World Cups.
However, not alone, Indonesia will collaborate with Singapore as the host. Jokowi is optimistic that Indonesia and Singapore can carry out this mandate well.
“I am sure that Indonesia and Singapore will be good hosts for the two tournaments,” said Jokowi at the Indonesian Air Force Base, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, Monday, December 4 2023.
To support this target, said Jokowi, the government is also continuing to evaluate and plan for additional stadiums.
Currently the Indonesian government has submitted a declaration of interest which is the capital for the bidding process, where the document has been signed by PSSI and by the Football Association of Singapore.
“Everything has been processed. “Yes, we are in the bidding process and we will complete renovations for 22 football stadiums in preparation for going there,” said Jokowi. (AT Network)
