ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The world has spoken, and Bali has emerged on top.

Global travel platform TripAdvisor has officially named Indonesia’s famed island as the World’s Best Travel Destination for 2026, ranking it first on the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026.

Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, welcomed the accolade, expressing appreciation for the trust and positive reviews from international travelers.

“We are grateful for the reviews and ratings shared by global travelers on TripAdvisor. Bali’s recognition as the world’s best destination confirms that the island remains a powerful magnet for global tourism,” the minister said in Jakarta quoted on January 20, 2026.

Bali’s Highest-Ever Ranking in TripAdvisor History

Securing the top position on the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026 marks the highest achievement Bali has ever attained in TripAdvisor’s history. While the island has consistently appeared in the Top 10 global destinations over the years, 2026 is the first time Bali has claimed the number one spot.

The awards are based on millions of reviews and ratings submitted by travelers worldwide throughout 2025, making the ranking a genuine reflection of global visitor experiences.

Multiple Global Accolades for Bali

In addition to being named the world’s best destination, Bali also secured top rankings across several prestigious categories, including:
– World’s Best Honeymoon Destination
– Top 10 Best Cultural Destinations
– Top 10 Best Solo Travel Destinations
– Top 20 Trending Cities Worldwide

These achievements further reinforce Bali’s status as a versatile global tourism icon, appealing to a wide spectrum of travelers—from cultural enthusiasts to solo adventurers.

A Catalyst for High-Quality, Sustainable Tourism

The Indonesian government views the achievement as a catalyst to further enhance service quality and sustainable tourism practices, not only in Bali but across the country.

“Going forward, we are committed to ensuring that Bali continues to grow as a high-quality destination—one that benefits local communities, preserves the environment, and inspires the world,” Minister Widiyanti emphasized.

Where Nature and Culture Meet in Harmony

Bali’s enduring appeal lies in its rare harmony between natural beauty and living culture. Breathtaking landscapes blend seamlessly with rich local traditions, arts, and religious ceremonies that are carefully preserved by the island’s communities.

More than just a holiday destination, Bali offers deeply meaningful travel experiences, making it a place that travelers from around the world continue to long for—time and again. (AT Network)
