ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — Indonesian mining services company PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) is expanding its mining portfolio through a strategic investment of IDR1.19 trillion (approximately US$66 million) in PT Singaraja Putra Tbk (SINI).
The investment was executed through Petrosea’s participation in SINI’s pre-emptive rights (HMETD) share issuance, resulting in Petrosea securing a 19.88% ownership stake in the company.
The strategic move highlights Petrosea’s efforts to strengthen its mining ecosystem, expand asset ownership, and build greater integration across Indonesia’s energy and natural resources supply chain.
As part of the transaction, Petrosea also completed the divestment of 99.99% ownership in PT Kemilau Mulia Sakti (KMS) to SINI.
KMS owns a stake in PT Cristian Eka Pratama (CEP), a coal mining operator holding a Production Operation Mining Business Permit (IUP-OP) in Kutai Barat, East Kalimantan, one of Indonesia’s major coal-producing regions.
Following the transaction, CEP, which was previously part of Petrosea’s portfolio, has become part of SINI’s mining asset portfolio.
Expanding Indonesia’s Mining Portfolio
The addition of CEP strengthens SINI’s mining portfolio, which already includes PT Persada Kapuas Prima (PKP), PT Pasir Bara Prima (PBP), PT Pesona Bara Cakrawala (PBC), and PT Cakrawala Bara Persada (CBP), with operations across Central Kalimantan.
CEP, PBP, PBC, and CBP are also among Petrosea’s mining contract clients, creating potential synergies between mining asset ownership and integrated mining services.
“Going forward, we believe the coal mining industry will remain an important pillar in providing affordable energy supply and supporting national energy security,” Petrosea President Director Michael said in an official statement.
Strengthening Indonesia’s Role in Asia’s Energy Sector
Petrosea provides integrated services across the mining and energy value chain, including engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), mining operations, offshore engineering, and logistics services across the Asia-Pacific and Oceania regions.
The company continues to focus on operational excellence, workplace safety, environmental management, risk mitigation, and good corporate governance as foundations for sustainable growth.
The investment comes as Indonesia continues to strengthen its position as one of Asia’s leading resource hubs, supported by its vast mineral and energy reserves and growing role in regional supply chains.
Through the strategic investment in SINI, Petrosea aims to enhance its competitiveness, expand its mining capabilities, and contribute to Indonesia’s long-term energy resilience. (AT Network)
