President Prabowo Appoints Rosan Roeslani as CEO of Danantara Sovereign Fund

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has officially appointed a number of officials to manage the Indonesian Investment Management Agency, Danantara Sovereign Fund.

This appointment was determined through Presidential Decree Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and Managing Body of Danantara Indonesia.

“Danantara Indonesia is not just an investment management body, but must be an instrument of national development that will optimize the way we manage Indonesia’s wealth,” said President Prabowo, Monday, February 24 2025.

Based on the Decree, President Prabowo chose the Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Rosan Roeslani as CEO of the Danantara Sovereign Fund.

There are two positions under the CEO of Danantara, namely the Chief Operating Officer (COO) who is responsible for the Operational Holding, and the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) who controls the State-Owned Enterprise Investment Holding.

Pandu Patria Sjahrir was appointed to serve as CIO Danantara who will be responsible for managing investment and empowering the assets of all State-Owned Enterprises. Furthermore, the COO position was entrusted to Doni Oskaria who currently serves as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, who will be responsible for managing the operations of State-Owned Enterprises under Danantara.

Prabowo has also determined the composition of the Danantara Supervisory Board where the Supervisory Board is led by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir. Apart from that, Muliaman Hadad was also appointed as Deputy Chair of the Danantara Supervisory Board, and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani also joined as a member of the Danantara Supervisory Board.

Then, Prabowo also asked former presidents and leaders of religious organizations to participate in supervising and becoming advisors to the management of Danantara funds. President Prabowo said that Danantara, which will become Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, will manage assets worth more than US$900 billion.

According to him, the funds managed by Danantara will be used to finance sustainable and high-impact projects in various sectors, such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industry and food production.

Initial Strategy

Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani revealed the initial strategy that his agency will implement to realize President Prabowo Subianto’s dream of improving the Indonesian economy.

According to Rosan, his party will focus on financing in the fields of downstreaming to new renewable energy.

“For future projects, especially in the downstream sector, renewable energy, food sector, and other fields which will certainly have a very good and long-term impact in the future,” said Rosan at the State Palace, Monday, February 24 2025.

Rosan explained that of the total assets of State-Owned Enterprises that went to Danantara amounting to approximately US$900 billion, the initial funds to be managed for these projects were US$20 billion.

“Because we are investing with Danantara, we are investing in the future too. So that is our guide,” said Rosan.

However, Rosan said he would not close the door if there were investors who wanted to join in funding the projects that Danantara would work on.

“In fact, with the funds we have, it will actually provide confidence and certainty for investors also entering Indonesia,” he concluded. (AT Network)
