ASIATODAY.ID, WASHINGTON – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his support for a two-state solution to resolve the Palestinian conflict.
“I still recommend a two-state solution. In fact, they also agree,” said President Prabowo after meeting with the United States Minister of Defense, Lloyd Austin, on Wednesday, November 13 2024 in Washington DC.
President Prabowo hopes that a ceasefire can be realized soon to create a more stable peace in the region.
“We are working, we hope to have a ceasefire soon,” he said.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s stance to defend the country’s sovereignty by continuing to prioritize cooperation with all parties.
“We respect all powers but we will also maintain our sovereignty,” he stressed.
President Prabowo added that collaboration takes priority over confrontation or conflict. According to President Prabowo, this can be achieved by building trust and mutual respect between the countries involved.
“I believe collaboration, cooperation is always better than confrontation or conflict. Of course, this has to be done, it won’t come alone. “There must be efforts to build mutual trust and respect,” he said. (AT Network)
