ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A document entitled Delete A reveals the fact that China secretly wants to eliminate technology products made in the United States (US).
In the document, China is making every effort to ensure that technology products made in the United States are no longer used by their society.
Quoted from the Wall Street Journal, Friday, March 8 2024, the Commission for Supervision and Administration of State-Owned Assets issued the document in September 2022. In the document it is stated that state-owned companies in the financial, energy and other sectors are required to replace foreign software. made in the United States. Replacement is carried out using software made in China.
“This order is so secret that top officials and executives were only shown the document directly, and were not allowed to make copies,” said a source quoted by the Wall Street Journal.
The quiet move is believed to be China’s attempt to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, both for economic and national security reasons.
The United States was the target because the geopolitical conditions in the two countries had heated up. Especially when the United States imposed sanctions on Chinese technology companies such as Huawei. Likewise with measures to limit exports of advanced semiconductors made in China.
The Delete A document also states that restrictions are also placed on hardware made in the United States, such as servers and network technology made by Dell, IBM and Cisco.
The Wall Street Journal analyzed that these restrictions would mean that software and hardware made in the United States disappeared from China. It is not impossible that the same thing is also experienced by other giant US technology companies such as Microsoft and Oracle.
“Microsoft and Oracle are making China a profitable business center,” they wrote.
Currently, China has sufficient capital to be independent in terms of technology. Of the 100 largest technology companies on the commission’s list, 60 companies actually come from China. (ATN)
