ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s success in downstreaming the nickel industry has inspired countries in Asia, including Tajikistan.
The country has openly expressed its desire to learn from Indonesia’s success in managing nickel, considering that Indonesia has the largest nickel reserves in the world.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Industry and New Technology of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir when meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Faisol Riza in Jakarta, Friday, November 22 2024.
“We want to learn more about investment and development of the nickel sector in Indonesia,” said Mr. Kabir.
Tajikistan has also become the first country in Central Asia to develop policies related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and include them in the education curriculum. It is hoped that this can become a new area of cooperation between the two countries. Apart from that, Tajikistan also offers potential for cooperation in the fields of textiles, pharmaceuticals and aluminum.
As a form of its commitment, Tajikistan provides investment security guarantees, tax incentives, and the use of green energy that supports sustainability.
The cooperative relationship between Indonesia and Tajikistan has been going on for a long time, and in 2024 it will be 30 years old.
The Deputy Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Faisol, responded positively to the various offers of cooperation.
“We will prepare technical steps to follow up on this collaboration and identify Indonesian companies that have the potential to establish direct relations with Tajikistan. We hope that initial implementation can begin early next year,” he explained. (AT Network)
