ASIATODAY.ID, PEKANBARU – The fighter pilot school called the Joint Fighter Weapon Course (JFWC) between the Indonesian Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) reached its peak with the start of the Mission Oriented Training (MOT) phase at Roesmin Nurjadi Air Base Pekanbaru, Monday (11/13/2023).

This phase is an important milestone in increasing the complexity and interoperability capabilities between platforms, especially in combining combat tactics between the Indonesian Air Force and the RSAF.

The MOT phase was marked by the arrival of six F-16 fighter aircraft, consisting of five F-16 AM/BM aircraft from Air Squadron 3, one F-16 D aircraft from Air Squadron 14 Iswahjudi Air Base, and one CN 295 aircraft from Air Squadron 2 .With the involvement of increasing forces, it is hoped that joint air operational effectiveness can be increased.

The 4th JFWC MOT phase will last for one week, starting from 13 to 16 November 2023, at the Pekanbaru Joint Training Area. More than 15 multiplatform aircraft will be involved simultaneously, creating a highly dynamic combat training environment.

Kadisops Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base, Lt. Col. Pnb Bambang “Bramble” Apriyanto, S.T., as Training Director, explained that during the MOT phase, JFWC candidates will assume the role of Mission Commander (MC) who is responsible for executing joint air operations orders from the upper command. .

“In facing the MOT phase, candidates are expected to be able to design air operations tactics based on existing tasks, targets and threats effectively and efficiently,” said Bramble, quoted from a press release from the Indonesian Air Force, Tuesday (14/11/2023).

The MOT exercise itself is the implementation and development of basic air combat capabilities that have been trained in previous phases of the JFWC.

With the increasing complexity of this exercise, it is hoped that collaboration between the Indonesian Air Force and the RSAF can create mutual advantages in supporting future joint air operations to support the stability of the Southeast Asian region and its economic development under Indonesian leadership.
