ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The list of awards for the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia has been announced after the final match between the German vs French national teams.
The U-17 World Cup final took place dramatically at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Saturday, December 2 2023.
The two teams drew 2-2 in normal time, but Germany ultimately emerged victorious with a score of 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
This is Germany’s first U-17 World Cup title. This title feels special because it has only been 6 months since Der Panzer won the 2023 U-17 European Cup.
France had to settle for being runners-up in the 2023 U-17 World Cup, followed by Mali, who became the third-place team after beating Argentina with a score of 3-0.
After the final match, FIFA announced the list of award winners for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
The England U-17 team, which lost in the round of 16, was selected to be the Fair Play Team. The Three Lions cannot receive gifts because they have returned to their country.
In terms of individual awards, Argentina, Mali and France actually placed more players than Germany. Regarding the Golden Ball, it was indeed won by Paris Brunner, winger for the German U-17 national team, but Argentinian striker Augustin Ruberto won the Golden Boot at the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
French national team goalkeeper Paul Argney received the Golden Glove title for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
From Mali, there is team captain Ibrahm Diarra who won the Silver Boat in this tournament. Hamidou Makalou won the Silver Ball or second best player.
