Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Landsbergis also expressed his country’s full support for Indonesia’s membership in the OECD.

“I strongly support Indonesia’s membership efforts in the OECD and am ready to share our recent accession experience,” he said.

The OECD is a forum consisting of 37 member countries, carrying out economic collaboration to develop policy standards to encourage sustainable economic growth.

OECD member countries currently contribute three-fifths of world GDP, three-quarters of world trade, more than 90% of global official development assistance, half of world energy consumption and 18% of the world’s population.

Indonesia’s membership in the OECD can accelerate Indonesia’s economic transformation in order to achieve national strategic goals. Meanwhile for the OECD, joining Indonesia will provide a wider global reach, especially in the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region. (AT Network)
