After Sepultura and Over Kill, In Flames and Kreator Ready to Rock the Jogjarockarta Stage

Jogjarockarta 2024. Special

ASIATODAY.ID, YOGYAKARTA – After the music groups Sepultura and Over Kill rocked the Jogjarockarta 2023 stage, the seventh Jojarockarta performance will be held again on January 27 2024.

Jogjarockarta 2024 this time gave a big surprise by presenting two metal group legends from Europe, In Flames and Kreator.

In Flames is a metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, which was formed in 1990. Throughout its career, the band, which is considered one of the pioneers of Swedish death metal, has released 14 studio albums. Their latest album, Foregone (2022), was praised by many music critics and was called their best album in the last 20 years.

“Foregone is a reminder: when In Flames were at the peak of their powers, they were truly untouchable,” writes Kerrang.

In Flames is considered to be one of the most successful and influential Swedish metal bands in the world. They have sold two million albums, and were nominated for three Grammy Awards – Sweden’s music awards – and won two for Best Hard Rock / Metal Album.

Now, after 33 years of journey, this metal group from Sweden consists of Bjorn Gelotte (guitar), Anders Friden (vocalist), Tanner Wayne (drums), and Chris Broderick (guitar).

Meanwhile, Kreator, there is almost no metal fan who doesn’t know their name. Formed in Essen, Germany, in 1982, this German giant is considered one of the Big Four thrash metal in the Teutonic region. Founded by Mille Petrozza (guitar and vocals) who still exists today, Kreator is consistent in the thrash metal path and provides a shoulder for the next generation of thrash bands.

A discography that spans 15 albums, with the latest being Hate Uber Alles (2022), and has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide, makes Kreator remain a champion in the realm of thrash metal.

After going through several personnel changes, Kreator is now strengthened by Jürgen “Ventor” Reil (drums), Sami Yli-Sirniö (guitar), and Frédéric Leclercq (bass).

Rock and metal fans have certainly been waiting for their arrival in Jogjarockarta. The presence of In Flames and Kreator in Jogjarockarta 2024 will be a historic moment for metal fans in Indonesia. These two bands have been an inspiration for many metal bands in Indonesia, and their presence in Jogjarockarta 2024 will be an opportunity to witness their performance live.

“We are very happy to be able to present In Flames and Kreator in Jogjarockarta 2024. This will be an extraordinary experience for metal fans in Indonesia,” said Anas S. Alimi, founder of Rajawali Indonesia.

Just like previous years, the seventh edition of Jogjarockarta will also present a parade of the best rock and metal bands from Indonesia. (AT Network)
