ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, has officially been appointed as Chairman of the World Mosque Youth Advisory Board.
The decision was made during a formatur meeting held in Singapore, which also brought together several influential Southeast Asian figures.
Alongside Bahlil, the Advisory Board is strengthened by the former President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, the Governor of Malacca Mohd Ali Rustam, and Cambodia’s Senior Minister Othsman Hassan. Their presence is expected to enhance youth Islamic networks on both regional and global levels.
The President of the World Mosque Youth, Said Al Idrus, emphasized that this year’s composition of the Advisory Board reflects the organization’s strong commitment to fostering cross-country cooperation.
“With the involvement of these prominent figures from diverse backgrounds, the World Mosque Youth aims to become a platform that empowers Muslim youth worldwide,” he stated, September 30, 2025.
Support also came from the Indonesian Youth Forum (FORMID). Its Treasurer-General, Yoga Mirza Pratama, expressed optimism that this international collaboration will elevate the World Mosque Youth’s global influence.
“With the portfolios of these distinguished leaders, particularly Bahlil, we are confident that the World Mosque Youth can serve as a strategic bridge for Muslim youth across nations,” said Yoga.
The participation of regional leaders is viewed as a significant opportunity to strengthen Islamic youth cooperation in Southeast Asia while reinforcing Indonesia’s role in spearheading global initiatives rooted in Islamic values. (AT Network)
