Banten is in The Top 5 Global Investment Destinations in Indonesia

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Banten Province is listed as one of the global investment destinations in Indonesia.

Based on data released by the Ministry of Investment, throughout 2023, investment realization in Banten Province during 2023 reached IDR 103.85 trillion.

Foreign investment flows reached IDR 65.88 trillion (63.3 percent). This figure is much greater than the flow of Domestic Investment which only reached IDR 37.97 trillion (36.5 percent).

There are five countries contributing foreign investment in Banten, namely Malaysia worth $1.776 billion, South Korea $709 million, Singapore $671 million, Japan $416 million, Hong Kong and China $273 million.

The investment realization increased 29.46 percent on an annual basis compared to the realization in 2022 which reached IDR 80.22 trillion. In fact, this figure exceeded the regional target of 173 percent and the national target of around 125.27 percent.

This achievement places Banten in fifth position as the province with the highest investment realization in 2023, behind West Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java and Central Sulawesi.

Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar admitted that 2023 is a promising year for Banten in investment matters. Investment realization in the westernmost province of Java Island has increased significantly compared to previous years.

“With pro-investment policies and various incentives offered, Banten has succeeded in attracting investors to invest their capital in various strategic sectors,” he said, Friday, March 1 2024.

Leading Investment Sector

Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Service, Banten Province, Virgojanti, said that increasing investment realization is an indicator of a conducive investment climate in Banten. Aspects supporting investment such as infrastructure, transportation, licensing services and the availability of industrial areas will continue to be a focus of evaluation by the Banten provincial government.

According to Virgojanti, there are five leading sectors with the largest investment realization achievements during the 2023 period. The largest is the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry amounting to IDR 31.92 trillion. Housing, industrial areas and offices reached IDR 18.49 trillion. In the electricity, gas and water sector IDR 9.12 trillion. Then, transportation, warehouse and telecommunications Rp. 7.23 trillion. The realization in other service sectors was IDR 6.57 trillion.

Based on the distribution of district/city locations, the largest investment realization sequentially was in Cilegon City with a value of IDR 38.63 trillion. Next, namely Tangerang Regency IDR 29.69 trillion, Tangerang City IDR 14.99 trillion, Serang Regency IDR 10.29 trillion, South Tangerang City IDR 7.45 trillion, Lebak Regency IDR 1.66 trillion, Pandeglang Regency IDR 793 billion, and Serang City IDR 350 billion.
