ASIATODAY.ID, BALI — Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, proudly marks a decade of operations to Bali, celebrating ten years of connecting the Island of the Gods to its global network.

Since its inaugural flight in June 2015, the airline has carried more than 4.28 million passengers to and from Bali across over 11,800 flights.

Operating twice-daily services with its iconic Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, Emirates has provided seamless access to Bali from more than 140 destinations worldwide. The route has become a vital gateway for travelers from Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa, many of whom choose Dubai as their preferred hub en route to Bali’s world-renowned beaches and cultural attractions.

At the time of Emirates’ launch, Bali welcomed 3.7 million visitors in 2014. Over the years, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has recorded steady growth in international arrivals, including long-haul travelers transiting through Dubai from destinations across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.

Beyond tourism, Emirates SkyCargo has played a significant role in supporting Bali’s economy. To date, the airline has transported 35,690 tonnes of cargo, including perishables, textiles, handicrafts, and high-value logistics shipments, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in connecting local businesses to global markets.

“We are extremely proud to mark this 10-year milestone in Bali,” said Mohammad Al Attar, Emirates Country Manager for Indonesia on Monday, December 29, 2025.

“Bali holds a very special place in our global network, and this anniversary reflects our long-term commitment to the island and its people. Over the past decade, our operations have continued to evolve with the introduction of scheduled A380 services in 2023, as well as the expansion of our regional reach through interline agreements with Garuda Indonesia, offering travelers greater access to additional points via Bali and Jakarta.

“These continued efforts reinforce our dedication to delivering world-class connectivity and service, as we remain committed to supporting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Indonesia, the UAE, and the wider world.”

Over the past decade, Bali’s tourism landscape has transformed—evolving from a short-stay, beach-focused destination into a globally recognized hub for wellness seekers, adventurers, remote workers, and cultural explorers.

Amid this evolution, Emirates has remained a key enabler of global access to Bali, consistently connecting diverse travelers to the island’s dynamic tourism ecosystem.
