FEB University of Indonesia Establishes Collaboration with SJTU China

ASIATODAY.ID, DEPOK – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) University of Indonesia (UI) has collaborated with the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).

This collaboration marks the first official collaboration between FEB UI and a university in China.

“It is an honor for us that the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance is the first business school in China to collaborate with FEB UI,” said FEB UI Dean Teguh Dartanto, Thursday 1 February 2024.

SJTU is ranked 46th in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2023, or a difference of more than 200 places from UI which is ranked 248th. Meanwhile, the SAIF Master of Finance has been ranked second in Asia and 17th globally according to the Financial Times since 2021.

The collaboration agreement was signed by the Dean of FEB UI Teguh Dartanto Ph.D. and Head of the Institute for Economic and Community Research (LPEM) FEB UI, Chaikal Nuryakin. Meanwhile, from the SJTU side, the Executive Director of SAIF SJTU, Tu Guangshao, and Professor & Executive Director of SAIF SEA Center, Hu Jie.

In his statement, Tu Guangshao assessed that the economic performance of ASEAN countries, including Indonesia, shows increasingly promising potential to face global economic uncertainty.

This is a strong basis that encourages SAIF to collaborate with FEB UI and involve strategic partners LPEM UI.

Head of LPEM FEB UI, Chaikal Nuryakin hopes that the formation of this collaboration will open the door for LPEM to be known at the international level as a center for superior economic and social research. (ATN)
