Freeport CEO McMoran Suddenly Meets Sri Mulyani, What’s Up?

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman & CEO of Freeport McMoran Richard C Adkerson meet the Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani at his office, Wednesday afternoon, March 27 2024.

Richard came with President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas, CFO Freeport-McMoran Kathleen L. Quirk, and CFO Freeport Indonesia Rob Schroeder.

Sri Mulyani admitted to exchanging ideas about many things with the big Freeport boss, from the global economy to retirement.

“This afternoon I received a visit from one of the drivers of the extractive industry in Indonesia, Freeport Indonesia. Not only Tony Wenas, I also received a visit from Freeport-McMoran CEO Richard Adkerson, Freeport McMoran CFO Kathleen L. Quirk, and also Freeport Indonesia CFO Rob Schroeder,” said Sri Mulyani via a post on her Instagram account @smindrawati.

“We exchanged ideas about many things. Starting from the global economic landscape which is still very volatile, the largest energy conference in the United States which was held in Houston, to a snapshot of the current condition of the copper market in the world,” he added.

On that occasion, Richard also announced that he would retire after 20 years in office. He will be replaced by Kathleen, who is also present in the guest group.

“I also received news that Richard will end his term as CEO of Freeport-McMoran after 20 years in office. Richard will be replaced by Kathleen who currently serves as CFO of Freeport-McMoran,”

Sri Mulyani also congratulated the future new boss of Freeport, Kathleen.

“Don’t forget, I would like to congratulate Kathleen on her new assignment,” he concluded. (ATN)
