ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Shipping issuer PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk. (HUMI) carried out ship rejuvenation by acquiring 1 unit of oil tanker ship. The ship purchase was carried out through one of its business units, PT Hutama Trans Kontinental (Matrako).
HUMI President Director, Tirta Hidayat said this effort was part of a strategic step to expand capacity and support business development in the energy industry.
“It is hoped that the purchase of this ship will strengthen HUMI’s position in the shipping and logistics industry, especially to meet the growing demand for oil transportation,” said Tirta in a press release, Friday, November 15 2024.
He explained that the oil tanker named MT Anargya I with 7,063.5 mt dead weight would support HUMI’s commitment to running sustainable operations. With the addition of this fleet, HUMI can offer oil transportation solutions for customers operating in the energy sector.
Tirta added that the acquisition of this oil tanker was part of the plan to add assets in 2024 to strengthen services in the energy transportation sector. The company is committed to continuing to improve operational efficiency in order to better serve customer needs, as well as support the growth of the energy industry in Indonesia.
“With this ship, HUMI also plans to increase its capacity to transport oil and other energy products, as well as expand its operational reach,” he said.
MT Anargya I has an epoxy coating cargo tank with three pumps which allows ship charterers to load three types of cargo, apart from that it is equipped with a heating coil so that it has the opportunity to transport Palm Oil products such as CPO, Olein, Palm Stearin.
Currently the MT Anargya I ship has a contract with PT Pertamina International Shipping, so the ship is immediately fully utilized commercially. This step emphasizes HUMI’s commitment to supporting business development through ship rejuvenation and investment programs that focus on fulfilling sustainability and safety standards in its operations, including ensuring that the Plan Maintenance System (PMS) is implemented properly and correctly so that the Operational Excellence program can guarantee customer satisfaction and maintain trust. customers to increase collaboration opportunities for other new projects.
