Indonesia and Azerbaijan Agree on Diplomatic Visa Free Agreement

ASIATODAY.ID, NEW YORK – Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, signed the Diplomatic and Service Visa Free Agreement between the two countries. The signing of the agreement took place on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly in New York, United States, on Friday, September 27 2024.

“I believe that this agreement will improve diplomatic relations and facilitate closer cooperation between the two countries which will bring greater collaboration in the future,” said Retno.

Meanwhile, Minister Bayramov called Indonesia an important partner for Azerbaijan. He emphasized Azerbaijan’s desire to continue to carry out bilateral cooperation at the highest level with Indonesia.

The two Ministers also agreed to increase cooperation in various international cooperation forums.

Responding to this, Minister Retno expressed Indonesia’s support for hosting Azerbaijan at this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Azerbaijan has a long and good history of relations with Indonesia. Both are active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In this context, Minister Retno expressed her hope that cooperation between the two countries can continue to be improved and produce mutual benefits for the people of both countries. (AT Network)
