At the BRICS Summit in Russia, Indonesia will voice an important message of peace and call for the importance of developing countries and the global south to unite.

Indonesia also called for the importance of countries increasing solidarity and playing an important role in creating a more inclusive, just, and equal world order.

The BRICS Summit is a cooperation forum formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa to discuss current global issues. In early 2024, several countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia have joined BRICS so that its membership is now 9 countries.

The BRICS Summit with developing countries this time carries the theme “BRICS and Global South: Joint Building of a Better World”. Russian President Vladimir Putin also invited non-BRICS member countries to attend the Summit, one of which is Indonesia.

In addition to attending the BRICS Plus Summit, Minister Sugiono is planned to hold bilateral meetings with several friendly countries to discuss current regional and global issues. (AT Network)
