ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia is reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The House of Representatives’ Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Body (BKSAP) is partnering with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Global Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (GCAP) based in Istanbul, Türkiye, and several national philanthropic organizations — including Dompet Dhuafa, Rumah Zakat, Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI), Forum Zakat (FOZ), and Daarut Tauhid Peduli — to organize the Asia-Pacific Conference for Palestine, to be held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on 7–8 November 2025.
Under the theme “Strengthening Alliances to Defend Palestine”, the conference follows up on the GCAP meeting in Istanbul held on 30–31 September 2025. During that event, the Indonesian delegation led by Prof. Dr. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, MA, Chairman of MUI’s Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Department, was entrusted by participants to host the next GCAP regional conference.
Mardani Ali Sera, Chair of BKSAP DPR RI, expressed his appreciation for MUI’s initiative and the collaborative support from Indonesia’s philanthropic institutions.
“The House of Representatives fully supports this humanitarian movement initiated by MUI and our national philanthropic organizations,” said Mardani during a meeting at MUI Headquarters, Jakarta, on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Mardani emphasized that the conference aligns with BKSAP’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy in promoting human rights and global justice.
“The Palestinian issue is not merely a religious or regional matter — it represents a universal humanitarian principle. Through parliamentary diplomacy, Indonesia seeks to strengthen the collective voice of Asia-Pacific nations to stop violence and ensure justice for the Palestinian people,” he stressed.
The Asia-Pacific Conference for Palestine aims to enhance regional solidarity, formulate concrete actions to support the Palestinian struggle, and develop a joint agenda to end ongoing atrocities and advance Palestine’s independence.
Participants will discuss the latest developments in Gaza from humanitarian, political, and international law perspectives, while building a unified front for justice, peace, and Palestinian sovereignty. (AT Network)
