ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian aquaculture products are increasingly being accepted on the global market. This is demonstrated by the export of 42 tons of shrimp feed and 8 million shrimp seeds, as well as 400 shrimp broodstock to Brunei Darussalam.
This aquaculture product is produced by PT Suri Tani Pemuka from Purwakarta, West Java.
“This export is a barometer that Indonesian aquaculture products have international standards and are able to compete in the global market,” said the Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products, Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Budi Sulistiyo in a written statement in Jakarta, Monday, 18 November 2024 .
Budi explained that exported fish food products are the result of optimizing local raw materials and technological innovation, thereby providing significant added value to the Indonesian fisheries sector and being able to compete in quality, sustainability and production efficiency.
Providing quality fish feed not only supports domestic cultivation but also encourages downstream industries such as fishery product processing, which will expand economic benefits.
“We hope that this export will open the door for further cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam in the fisheries sector, both in terms of trade and investment,” he said.
In the same place, the Director of PT Suri Tani Pemuka, Jonny Susanto, admitted that he was proud to be able to send quality feed, shrimp seeds and shrimp broodstock to the international market.
According to him, this export not only introduces Indonesian aquaculture products, but also contributes to encouraging economic growth in the national marine and fisheries sector as well as establishing economic relations between Indonesia and Brunei.
“This first export to Brunei marks the first step in opening the door to cooperation, including efforts to expand market reach for aquaculture activists there,” said Jonny. (AT Network)
