Indonesian Election: Chinese Government Welcomes Prabowo-Gibran’s Victory

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Chinese government assesses that the 2024 elections in Indonesia will run successfully and smoothly.

The Chinese government also said that the victory of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as president and vice president was very important for the future and prosperity of Indonesia.

“Congratulations to Indonesia for holding successful and smooth elections,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning in Beijing, China, Monday, February 19 2024.

Mao Ning also described Indonesia as a friendly country to China. The Chinese government believes that the choices made by the Indonesian people in the 2024 elections are for the future and prosperity of the country.

Mao Ning emphasized that China will continue to cooperate with Indonesia, strengthen mutual trust, increase strategic cooperation in various fields, and promote the stable, healthy and sustainable growth of China-Indonesia relations for the interests of the two countries.

Previously on Sunday, February 18 2024, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Lu Kang, also congratulated Prabowo Subianto directly at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta. (ATN)
