ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia has begun implementing electronic services.

Starting May 1 2024, cassation and judicial review (PK) submissions can be made completely electronically.

Sending files for appeals for cassation and review as intended is carried out via the Court Case Information System (SIPP) application version 5.5.0, which has been officially launched by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, M. Syarifuddin in Jakarta, Friday, April 26 2024.

“I emphasize that requests for cassation and review to the Supreme Court can be carried out completely electronically, starting from the deed of cassation/review submission dated May 1 2024,” said Syarifuddin, quoted on Sunday, April 28 2024.

Syarifuddin believes that the implementation of electronic appeals for cassation and judicial review will bring significant changes to the case examination system at the Supreme Court.

With the implementation of this policy, no more printed documents will be sent to the Supreme Court.

“Examination of cassation cases and judicial review completely uses case files in the form of electronic documents,” he explained.

According to him, this electronic system makes the case examination process easier because access to files can be done without being hindered by time and place. However, he reminded that electronic documents are vulnerable to being changed or modified.

“I remind you of the importance of the quality control role of court clerks of first instance. “The quality control process is very necessary in implementing electronic cassation and judicial review submissions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court Registrar Heru Pramono said that the system for filing cassation and judicial review electronically is a priority program for the court. To implement electronic justice, the Supreme Court has issued three policies.

The three policies in question include, among others, Supreme Court Regulation Number 6 of 2022; Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Court Number 207/KMA/SK.HK2/X/2023; and Supreme Court Registrar’s Letter Number 712 /PAN/HK1.2.3/4/2024 dated April 23 2024.

“Electronic filing of cassation and judicial review is part of the online court implementation sub-system which is one of the priority programs for case management modernization mandated by the 2010-2035 Judicial Reform Blueprint,” said Heru.

He explained that the Registrar of the Supreme Court was preparing implementation instructions to implement the electronic submission of legal remedies for cassation and judicial review.

“Currently we are also preparing instructions for submitting electronic appeals for cassation/judicial review. When we have finished compiling it, we will immediately publish it,” he added. (ATN)
