ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) noted that the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market has reached 13 million, marked by single investor identification (SID). Since the beginning of 2024 until now, there have been the addition of 863,000 new SIDs.
“Of the 13 million, 5.7 million SIDs are stock investors,” said IDX Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik in an official statement, in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 26 2024.
This growth cannot be separated from various activities of the IDX and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), collaborating with various communities and the introduction of the IDX Mobile application.
From January to May 2024, there were 6,211 capital market education activities attended by more than 5.8 million participants throughout Indonesia.
“This activity is driving the growth in the number of Indonesian capital market investors,” he explained.
He said as many as 2.9 million participants were educated through 5,460 activities involving 2,881 capital market ambassadors. Meanwhile, methods of socialization and education include IDX Mobile.
“BEI encourages the use of IDX Mobile to increase Indonesian capital market literacy,” he added.
As of May 2024, the number of IDX Mobile users reached 154,883, up 47% from December 2023. Since the beginning of the year, the average number of users generated every day has reached 306 users.
He said that of the 5.7 million stock investors currently, most already have online trading applications. Meanwhile, the IDX investment gallery as of June 20 2024 reached 904 units. (AT Network)
