ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran appreciates the success of holding the 2024 Indonesian democracy party which took place on February 14.
“Congratulations on the successful implementation and enthusiasm for the presidential election in the friendly and brotherly country of the Republic of Indonesia,” said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Naser Kanani in Tehran on Monday, February 19 2024.
Kanani said that Iran respects the voice of the Indonesian people at this year’s democracy party. He also believes that relations between the two countries based on historic friendship and shared interests will become stronger in this new era.
The 2024 elections in Indonesia include the election of the president and vice president, members of the Central, Provincial and Regency/City level People’s Representative Councils, members of the Regional Representative Council, with a national-level permanent voter list of 204,807,222 voters.
After the voting which was held on February 14, the national vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20 2024, as stated in General Election Commission Regulation Number 3 of 2022.
Based on the results of the quick count, the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were declared the winners of the most votes. (ATN)
