ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Futsal Federation and the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung held a meeting to discuss the readiness of the 2026 AFC Asian Futsal Cup. This meeting confirmed Jakarta’s readiness as a host and the opportunity to improve Indonesia’s futsal achievements.
“As the host, Indonesia not only wants to be successful as an organizer but the achievements of the national futsal team are also the main focus in this tournament,” said Pramono Anung, Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Jakarta is ready to fully support this event with the best facilities and coordination. The Jakarta Provincial Government will collaborate to support the development of futsal in Indonesia.
The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Futsal Federation, Michael Victor Sianipar, said that synergy with the government is very important. Collaboration with various parties will strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international arena.
The Indonesian Futsal Federation also continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure the readiness of the venue. This event is expected to be a golden momentum for the development of Indonesian futsal.
Michael added that preparations are not only for the AFC Asian Futsal Cup 2026 but other tournaments before the main event will also be held to increase the competitiveness of the national team.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially appointed Indonesia as the host of the AFC Asian Futsal Cup 2026. This decision is proof of trust in Indonesia in organizing major tournaments. Throughout history, the Asian Futsal Cup has been held 17 times since 1999. Indonesia itself has participated in 10 editions of this prestigious tournament.
The Indonesian futsal team recorded 38 matches with 10 wins, two draws, and 24 losses. These statistics are a challenge to improve achievements in the 2026 edition.
The 2026 AFC Asian Futsal Cup tournament is scheduled to take place from 14 to 31 May 2026. While the qualifying round will be held from 22 November to 30 August 2025. (AT Network)
