ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono met Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Andrey Rudenko, at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, Monday, 17 February 2025. The two discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, including dialogue mechanisms and economic cooperation.
Minister Sugiono said that currently Indonesia is focusing on building cooperation in the field of food and energy security. For this reason, he welcomed the 13th Indonesia-Russia Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation meeting which will take place in Jakarta this April.
Sugiono also hopes that Russia will continue to support Indonesia’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union/EAEU in building trade partnerships.
Apart from that, Sugiono also expressed hope for Russia’s support for national programs and Asta Cita, as well as appreciation for support for Indonesia as a full member of BRICS at the beginning of this year.
Indonesia and Russia have had diplomatic relations for 75 years, and have cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, energy and tourism. (AT Network)
