Medvedev: Indonesia is Russia’s Main and Largest Partner in Asia Pacific

ASIATODAY.ID, MOSCOW – Deputy Chairman of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, who is also former President of Russia and former Prime Minister of Russia, said that Indonesia plays an important position in the eyes of Russia.

“Indonesia is Russia’s main partner and the largest in the Asia Pacific region,” said Medvedev when meeting with the Coordinating Minister for the Indonesian Economy, Airlangga Hartarto at his residence, State Residence Gorky 9 Odintsovo, Moscow, Tuesday, June 11 2024.

Apart from that, Medvedev also expressed his pleasure at this contact and meeting and hoped that he could discuss various cooperation and global issues that guarantee world security.

“Russia is one of Indonesia’s largest economic partners. “We want to continue the cooperation between us and hope to develop it in the future, to achieve greater mutual understanding,” stressed Airlangga.

The 74th anniversary of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Russia is considered very important as a momentum to strengthen economic cooperation, especially in the trade, industry and investment sectors between the two countries.

“Indonesia welcomes this meeting as part of efforts to improve better relations between Indonesia and Russia in the future,” said Airlangga.

On this occasion, Airlangga also expressed various views on other global and strategic issues, including global geopolitical issues and positive dynamics in the two countries. (ATN)
