Through the International Youth Jamboree event, Mojokerto introduced its existence as a center of civilization with the splendor of the Majapahit Kingdom.
In this area there are various traces of royal heritage, ranging from temples, inscriptions, to memorials.
Apart from its history, Mojokerto has also been transformed into an industrial area as more and more integrated industrial areas and factories are being built.
The International Youth Jamboree which was held at the Ubaya Trade Center (UTC) Trawas, Mojokerto Regency on 9 November 2023 was initiated by the Pondok Kasih Foundation, the East Java Provincial Government and the Meek Foundation.
The jamboree entitled ‘The Future is Us’ was attended by 380 young people from within and outside the country which took place from 6-9 November 2023. This jamboree aims to prepare the young generation to understand their identity and be ready to become leaders.
The Regent of Mojokerto, Ikfina Fahmawati said, Mojokerto Regency as the Full of Majapahit Greatness has its own philosophy. Like Gapura Wringin Lawang which means defense, a marker of regional power, and is a robe of greatness as an initial charm when you first see it. Then water waves are a water source which means preserving nature.
“Wringin Lawang Temple is also a symbol of the Majapahit kingdom and has been designated as a cultural heritage site. “This is believed to be the center of the Majapahit kingdom,” he explained.
Majapahit was a fairly large kingdom because Majapahit really respected differences. Apart from that, Majapahit also provides opportunities for everyone to develop better and respect each other.
“The size of the Majapahit kingdom cannot be separated from the blessings that God gave to the Majapahit kingdom. So Majapahit has many gifts and greatness,” added Ikfina.
The Regent of Mojokerto explained the philosophy of one of the symbols found in Gapura Wringin Lawang, namely water waves, which means water sources and natural sustainability, which is a gift given to Mojokerto Regency to continue to be maintained and maintained.
“We are entrusted with maintaining springs with beautiful nature that must be maintained. We are grateful to be able to care for springs, the water is then useful because it flows into rivers. Including the river that flows towards Surabaya,” he concluded.
Tourism Attraction
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, said that the 2023 International Youth Jamboree would be an event to revive the tourism and creative economy sectors in Mojokerto.
“This Jamboree is a momentum for young people to get to know Mojokerto more closely as one of the best tourist destinations in Indonesia,” he added. (AT Network)
