Since 2006, Singapore has consistently ranked first globally in Gallup’s global safety index. The nation’s reputation for order, strict law enforcement, and strong public trust in authorities are key factors behind its unmatched safety level.
“People in Singapore feel safe walking alone at any time—even at night,” the report noted, reaffirming the city-state’s image as a global benchmark for safety and security.

Malaysia and Myanmar Fall Behind
Interestingly, Malaysia, once considered among the safest in the region, dropped to 102nd globally, with only 58% of its citizens feeling safe. Myanmar, affected by political instability, ranked the lowest in ASEAN at 136th worldwide with 41%.
