ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media, Steve Forbes, has expressed strong optimism about Indonesia’s future under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

During a strategic meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Forbes praised President Prabowo’s economic policies and bold vision that are positioning Indonesia as an emerging global powerhouse.

“Indonesia is now led by a figure capable of driving major transformation. The economic reforms, deregulation, and strengthening of strategic sectors initiated by President Prabowo lay a critical foundation for Indonesia to rise on the global stage,” said Steve Forbes in a statement to the media after the meeting.

Forbes highlighted the increasingly favorable investment climate in Indonesia, attributing it to policies focused on anti-corruption, agricultural productivity, and regulatory efficiency. He emphasized that these steps are key to enhancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness.

“The progress Indonesia has achieved—and more importantly, what it is about to achieve—will become a globally significant story and an inspiration for other nations,” Forbes said.

Forbes Announces Indonesia to Host 2025 Global CEO Forum

As a vote of confidence in Indonesia’s promising outlook, Steve Forbes announced that Jakarta will host the 2025 Global CEO Forum on October 14–15, 2025. This prestigious forum will bring together over 400 international CEOs and business leaders, with President Prabowo delivering the keynote address.

“We want the world to witness firsthand the extraordinary transformation underway in Indonesia. President Prabowo will speak directly to the global business community about Indonesia’s future,” Forbes explained.

Strategic Meeting Strengthens Indonesia–U.S. Economic Ties

The meeting between President Prabowo and Steve Forbes also focused on strengthening Indonesia–United States economic cooperation.

Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, who accompanied the President, described the discussion as warm and productive.

“President Prabowo expressed Indonesia’s commitment to open and inclusive international partnerships, including deeper cooperation with the United States. His vision is for Indonesia to become a major player in the global economy,” Rosan stated.

Forbes likened Indonesia’s current trajectory to a rocket beginning to launch, propelled by sweeping structural reforms. He noted that these reforms would directly benefit the people and boost the country’s overall competitiveness.
