UNDP Indonesia Welcomes Sara Ferrer Olivella as New Resident Representative

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Indonesia has officially welcomed Sara Ferrer Olivella as its new Resident Representative, following the presentation of her credentials to Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono.

In her remarks, Ferrer Olivella expressed her deep appreciation for Indonesia’s commitment to multilateralism and its strong support for the United Nations and UNDP.

“I am honored to serve in Indonesia and to work alongside its leaders and people in advancing human development, alleviating pressure on the planet, strengthening resilience, and driving climate action,” she said, September 10, 2025.

UNDP’s partnership with Indonesia will continue to strengthen under three key pillars:

1. Human development, measured through health, education, and a decent standard of living.

2. Nature conservation and climate resilience, including decarbonization and disaster risk reduction.

3. Economic and digital transformation, aligned with the Indonesia Country Programme Document 2026–2030, recently approved by the UNDP Executive Board in New York.

With over 25 years of international development experience, Ferrer Olivella brings strong expertise in women’s empowerment, development financing, and the use of digitalization and artificial intelligence as drivers of sustainable human development.

“As UNDP Indonesia’s Resident Representative, I am committed to enhancing people’s well-being, protecting the environment, and deepening collaboration with our partners. I also look forward to learning more about Indonesia’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage,” she added. (AT Network)
