ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The export performance of cars produced by Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) continues to show a positive trend. Until September 2023, 120,243 vehicles have been successfully delivered to the export market.
Director of Corporate Planning & Marketing at Astra Daihatsu Motor, Sri Agung Handayani, revealed that this achievement had increased by 7.7% compared to the same period in 2022, which reached 111,669 units.
A number of cars exported from the ADM factory in Karawang, West Java, include the Daihatsu Gran Max, Toyota TownLite/Ace, and Mazda Bongo.
“Each country has different regulations and standards regarding four-wheeled vehicles, such as engine specifications and exhaust emissions. For exported vehicles, we always follow the regulations that apply in each country,” said Sri Agung, Saturday (28/10/2023 ).
To date, Gran Max products produced in Indonesia have been successfully sold in three countries, namely Japan, Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
ADM has also started sending Toyota Townlite products, which are the result of production collaboration with Toyota since 2008. There are a total of 15,226 units.
Previously in 2022, Daihatsu had succeeded in producing 562,000 car units. Of this amount, 30% is exported to 82 countries.
Based on data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), vehicle exports from Indonesia in complete form or completely built up (CBU) in the same period have reached 379,498 units, so the contribution of ADM vehicles exported has reached 31.65%.
In 2023, the government targets car exports in CBU form to reach 500,000 units. (ANT)
