ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The largest construction company in Central Asia from Kazakhstan, BI Group continues to explore investment opportunities in the Indonesian capital city of the archipelago (IKN).
This investment interest was demonstrated by visiting IKN directly. The visit was carried out by BI Group officials and a business delegation from Kazakhstan.
“This is the second visit of a business delegation from Kazakhstan. This time we are bringing Central Asia’s largest construction company from Kazakhstan, namely BI Group,” said M. Fadjroel Rachman, Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan during his visit to IKN as quoted from the official IKN website, Saturday, February 24 2024.
BI Group is a private multinational construction company from Kazakhstan which has built a number of large projects in Central Asia. BI Group is also the main company that built the capital city of Astana, Kazakhstan’s new capital which was built in 1997 and became the modern capital of Kazakhstan.
“From the start, our aim in bringing BI Group was to increase their interest in investing in the archipelago. With their experience in building new capital cities and at the multinational company level, we hope there will be positive developments after this visit,” said Fadjroel.
Deputy for Funding and Investment at the IKN Authority, Agung Wicaksono, said that the intensity of visits from investors, including from the BI Group, shows the great interest of investors in entering IKN.
“This is the second visit by an investor delegation from Kazakhstan. This week, there were also two visits by potential investors to IKN. Hopefully this is an indication of the increasing interest of investors in IKN after the peaceful elections that brought stability, as a prerequisite for investment,” said Agung.
Director of Global Business Development BI Group, Metin Palik, appreciated the seriousness and readiness of the Indonesian government in developing IKN.
“BI Group has carried out a lot of construction work in large quantities and even for the construction of a large city (Astana). With the explanation and presentation of the IKN project that we received today, hopefully there will be good news when we bring this information back to Kazakhstan,” said Palik.
Previously, the IKN Authority had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with another Kazakh company, namely Sergek Projects, which operates in the technology sector.
The hope is that if an agreement is reached between the IKN Authority and the BI Group, there will be a follow-up visit bringing in the CEO of the BI Group. (AT Network)
