50 Finland Companies Interested in Joining the Indonesian Archipelago Capital Project

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – As many as 50 leading companies from Finland are interested in joining the Indonesian Capital City or IKN development project.

All these companies are interested in collaborating with Indonesia in developing smart cities in IKN.

“As one of the most digitalized countries, we believe that Finland has the expertise that Indonesia needs in developing this smart city,” said Finland Minister of Economy Wille Rydman after meeting with the Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono in Jakarta, Monday, 29 January 2024.

Wille Rydman came to Indonesia with representatives from 19 companies from Finland at the Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.

He said his entire team was fully committed and ready to work together as a team with Indonesia in building the IKN smart city.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono stated that the government is exploring the potential for cooperation with Finland regarding the development of a smart city in IKN.

To realize a smart forest city, the government is developing a system to operate all infrastructure built at IKN in one command center so that services are integrated and optimal.

“We hope that Finland can help us in developing this system,” said Basuki.

He also hopes that Finland can send experts to help supervise the development process at IKN.

“Currently we have a curator and several other experts who supervise and evaluate the entire infrastructure development process at IKN. We hope that Finland can also send at least one expert,” said Basuki.

Basuki explained that the meeting was also to discuss the potential for collaboration with Finnish companies in the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), especially regarding the use of technology and renewable energy, in order to realize IKN’s vision as a smart forest city.

Based on Indonesian Presidential Regulation Number 63 of 2022 concerning Details of the Master Plan for the Archipelago Capital, it is explained that IKN was built as the nation’s capital city which has the main characteristics of being a smart, green and sustainable city.

IKN is also encouraged to become a city that manages resources efficiently, provides information accurately and openly, and provides excellent service to its citizens. (ATN)
