ASIATODAY.ID, DENPASAR – Dozens of cruise ships are ready to dock at Benoa Harbor carrying tens of thousands of foreign tourists to tour the Island of the Gods, Bali in 2024.
The number of cruise ships arriving is higher than the number of cruise ships docking throughout 2023.
Karlinda Sari, Senior Manager of Law and Public Relations at Pelindo Regional 3, said that up to now there have been 52 cruise calls for requests to dock at Benoa Harbor from cruise ships, while the number of ships docking in 2023 will be 48 cruises with 77,864 passengers.
“With 52 cruise calls, we project the number of incoming tourists to reach 89,400 people in 2024. One cruise ship can carry thousands of passengers, ranging from 4,000 to 6,000 passengers,” explained Karlinda, quoted from a press release, Friday, January 5 2024.
In early 2024 alone, more than three cruise ships will dock at Benoa Harbor. The latest, the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship, carries 4,400 passengers. The cruise ship docks on Thursday, January 4 2024 at 05.00 WITA and departs from Benoa Harbor for Singapore at 16.00 WITA. The 91,011 GT ship disembarked 2081 passengers and embarked 2300 passengers.
Apart from the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship, Benoa Harbor the day before also docked the Cruise Regatta so that there were 2 cruises docking together at Benoa Harbor.
“Not only did we successfully serve the embarkation and disembarkation process for 4,400 cruise passengers simultaneously, we also successfully served the berthing of 2 ships simultaneously at Benoa Harbor. “Even though it’s not the first time, we are quite proud of this achievement,” said Karlinda.
Karlinda also explained that the Pelindo Bali Port had started to become a hub that was not only for visits by cruise ship tourists but also as a departure point for foreign tourists. (AT Network)
