Another Blast in Lebanon: Indonesian Peacekeepers Wounded in UNIFIL Danger Zone

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Tragedy has struck again for Indonesia’s peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

Three Indonesian personnel serving under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured following an explosion at a UN facility near El Adeisse in southern Lebanon on Friday afternoon, April 3, 2026.

UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel confirmed that the blast wounded three peacekeepers, two of whom sustained serious injuries. All victims have been evacuated to a hospital and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The source of the explosion remains unknown, raising fresh concerns over security conditions in the operational area. UNIFIL described this week as a particularly difficult period for peacekeeping forces deployed in the region.

The mission has urged all parties involved in the conflict to respect the safety of peacekeepers and refrain from conducting hostilities near UN operational zones.

This latest incident adds to Indonesia’s growing list of casualties in Lebanon. The country had previously lost three personnel in the same mission—highlighting the escalating risks faced by peacekeepers in an increasingly volatile region.
